Hey all,
I am moving to Richmond in mid June. I will be split time working at downtown VCU 401-09 North 11th Street Richmond, Virginia 23219 and at an outpatient VCU center 9000 Stony Point Parkway Richmond, Virginia 23235. I am looking for a one to two bedroom, 1 bath apartment for one year lease. I would like to be in "the Fan" area as I hear that that's the place for a young, single professional.

Here's the catch. I have to move in mid June and will probably NOT have time to go up there and search for a place to live. Can anyone help me with recommendations?

Specifications of what I am looking for:
-one to two bedroom, 1 bath apartment for one year lease
-The Fan area
-Close to nice shopping, restaurants, markets
-Ok with small well behaved dog
-more higher end stuff like nice kitchen and bathroom, wood flooring

Any recommendations with specific names of buildings or complexes?
Thanks

After calling some places in "The Fan" area...I am not convinced this is the place for me. I do not want to do parking on the street. Yes, a cool area that is walkable would be nice. But I would be happy to stay away from the bar scene. Please help!!

The Fan is a great neighborhood but it is tough to find an apartment with parking as you have found out. You might be better suited for any of the lofts in Tobacco Row because they have parking lots that come with your unit and are still close to VCU and highways. There are at least 6-8 different buildings that comprise "Tobacco Row". Further South is the development called Rocketts Landing, there are nice, new apartments there with ample off street parking. Both areas appeal to young urban professionals. There are a few complexes not far from The Fan with parking at Southern Stove Lofts, and Todd Lofts which are across Hermitage Road from each other and both have parking. There are also several lofts with upscale finishes in the area known as Scott's Addition. It think these areas should provide you with what you are looking for.

Hey Sean.
Thanks so much for the response. I will totally look into those places. What do you think about the downtown Richmond area...i am specifically looking at Residence at John Marshall Hotel and the Miller and Rhoades building. Would this area be walkable and a good fit for a single professional female. Safe?
Thanks so much
