Hello, all,

I am 23 years old and a licensed driver in Virginia, but I've never owned a car and I'm not very confident on the road (for example, merging onto the highway freaks me out and I have trouble changing lanes in dense traffic). I haven't needed or been able to afford a car, since I take public transport in the city, but that will be changing in this next year. I'd like to brush up a little before I take the plunge and buy a vehicle.

Specifically, I'd really like to do this with a professional who has ample insurance- just in case. I don't carry insurance at all times, since I don't have cause to, but I can be added to my parents' insurance without much hassle.

Anyone know any decent driving schools? I know these are mostly for teenagers or people with points taken off of their licenses for traffic offenses, but I think this is probably the way to break my fear of the road.

Be like other Richmonders; point the car in the direction you want to go and hit the peddle.
