Hi all! In looking online at different areas both in and around Richmond, I see there is a high usage of oil/electric based heat. Are there areas than lean more towards gas heat? Gas is my preference as electricity and oil can be expensive. I've had gas heat furnaces in other homes except for one out west which used an electric heat pump.

Thanks!!!!

Gas is prevalent though out the region both in the city and the surrounding counties. Very often the age of the neighborhood dictates the fuel used for heating. I have gas for heat and hot water yet the home was build with electric cooking??? go figure I would have put in gas for cooking. Electric heat here with heat pump(s) is not unreasonable and many use a heat pump with oil/gas furnace back up. Find an area that you like and let your realtor guide you to home with the gas heat option.

Good Luck

Thank you! Good to know. It must be merely coincidence that many of the homes I saw had oil heating.
