Hi, I am a certified teacher in New York and I am looking to move to Richmond, Virginia. Does anyone know someone who has done this? Also, what is the best platform/communication to get a job? In New York we use a platform called OLAS, is there a platform like this? I am having trouble getting in contact with schools.

The hiring in virginia is done city by city and county by county.

Here in Richmond area you will want to sign up for positions at one or all of the below:

Chesterfield County (mix of suburbian and more urban)
Hanover County (more suburbian to rural)
Henrico County (mix of suburbian and more urban)
City of Richmond (highly urban)
Goochland County (rural)
Powhatan County (rural)

Please be aware there is no union here and to add to the above:

New Kent County (some suburban primarily rural)
King William County (Some suburban primarily rural)

As mentioned we are county wide school districts unless there is an city like Richmond, as you look at a map you can see all
the potential sites to check the state site does show some of the available listings.

Good Luck

Why Richmond? What makes you want to leave NY?
