Making things up?

Are you going to refute the claim of BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors making demands of Biden and being snubbed?

Face it, you marxists were conned!

Trump lost and I accept this. He was an a** and did not hide it. But the far left liberals scare the hell out of me as much as the far right scares me. But you speak of the "younger people." No doubt many of these young folks will go on to do great things. But I am seeing more and more that these younger people seem to be addicted to the cell phones and they fail to learn how to be a productive person in the real world. A friend helps lead a tech school near me and he says the vast majority coming in have no clue what a crescent wrench is when asked and many do not know the difference between a slotted and phillips head screwdrivers. They've become softer and softer and hard work is foreign to many. I know I am sounding more and more like the old codger but many recognize the same thing. Do these younger folks lean more left because they feel things will be handed to them in a world run by democrats? Is the democratic MSM driving them to believe the right is evil? Don't know here and I know that life will go on no matter who is in charge. I just hope Biden is the person many believe he is.

TV ruined Gen X, rock and roll ruined baby boomers. Blah, blah, blah

It takes a second to learn how to use a crescent wrench. Chimpanzees can do it. That’s not the measure of a generations’ potential success.

This is not unique to our generation - I'm old. For the Founders, generational discord was pronounced between the younger veterans and their older peers like Patrick Henry - to bring it back to central VA. Henry wanted to have the Episcopal Church remain as the state's church*, the younger generation balked. For those who grew up in the Great Depression, it was a generational conflict between generations which embraced FDR and those who didn't.

Imagine being someone who was born in 1750 in central VA living in 1802. The King was gone, entailments were gone, the federal government had nationalized all privately owned buoys, the church had been disestablished and the Commonwealth took church property and sold it. Baptists, Lutherans and other sects were gaining political power after 150 years of repression; there was a Jewish synagogue in Richmond in 1789. LOL, that's a changing world. Even dress was different, breeches were going out of style, whigs were less and less common, though they had been on their way out for decades and men's hair was cut short.

*Note for Virginians. The last glebe (church) lands were sold in 1802; the money was taken and distributed. We still see remnants of this in roads which are called Glebe Road.

On a lighter note, google "Bye Bye Birdie,What's the Matter With Kids Today."

Young people "coming of age" to vote is a silly thing. Many people end up maturing in their politics the older they get and that usually goes in the red direction.

I'm only 33. Many people in my age group who haven't completely failed miserably at what they were trying to achieve are already starting to turn up Republican. I find a lot of failed musician/artist types are now the hardcore socialist types -- perhaps they wouldn't be if they actually made some money. Its easier for them to vote for politicians who vow to take money away from other people and redistribute -- such is their reasoning defect.

Grow up. Make some money and support your family. It's not that hard!

Not saying money is everything but if you made terrible life choices and are now complaining about having no money -- well, who's fault is that? You can re-invent yourself and go from there.

I was a musician too but I also made sure I had skills outside of that sphere that could be used to find work. Now I'm doing ok using those skills whereas my friends put all of their eggs into the music thing and failed. Now they have no money or can't find a decent paying job because they lack skills. As you guessed it, they're all socialists now! haha

What's even the premise of this thread at this point? This turned into a get off my yard and back in my day party in 0-60 seconds after the election results dropped lol. This isn't anything new and yes, you are just getting older. Every single generation looks at the youngsters in confusion and disbelief. No, the kids aren't dumber or lazier because they don't vote the way that you do or don't hold onto knowledge that was useful to you in your youth but helps them none in theirs. I'm only 31 but I am already starting to lose touch with the things my nephews and younger cousins are into, watch and listen to. I can't for the life of me understand why all the younger ones in my family care so much about being a social media influencer. Why can't they just collect Pokemon cards and yoyos like I did?

I'm waiting on seeing the demographic breakdown of the presidential election because I believe the senior citizen block swung back to blue....

Also, the many people you know that became republican clearly aren't the majority. The areas with the highest incomes in the state mostly reside in blue cities and counties.... your personal experience conflicts with the plurity. Just breakdown incomes, education levels, best school districts etc. with how each locality voted.

Reversely my friends in their 30's are all doing well for themselves and all collectively frown upon the republican party of the last 4 years.

Trump raised the military budget over 7% and if you look closely the GOP is imploding like a rotten egg. More and more speaking out against Fearless Leader and not towing the line....

Keep dreaming because reality will be slapping you in the face shortly..

No, not everyone turns conservative with age. I'm turning more and more liberal, as I become more compassionate and sympathetic to others' struggles. I'm 45 years old btw, and our HHI (2 working parents) is in the 1%, so we do make money. However, we don't value money over people. It's a very poor excuse to vote for a racist because you care about $. And btw, the economy has been doing better under a democrat senate and president for decades.
