It is in Mechanicsville and is a CCRC. It looks lovely with lots of amenities and nice large independent cottages.
Has anyone had a friend or relative live there, and if so, what was their experience ?
Thanks

I know this is a bit old, but I had brunch today with a friend whose traveling to Richmond for the next 3 weeks. They are taking tours of 5 CCRC in the area, Covenant Woods is one. Besides the entire sale package each community has sent (very slick marketing material from all), they also checked each community's annual disclosure filed with the Sate of Virginia.
This is that website:
Virginia SCC - CCRC Disclosure Statements

If still interested, I'll let you know what their impression of that location is when they get back.

As an FYI, I have a couple relatives in CCRC's in other locations and overall, their life and aging has been far better than what I see most people going through. These are certainly not some "old folks home" by any imagination. Heck, my old lazy working uncle is more lively now than before they bought into their community. I'm considering this option myself.

Wishing you the best. Have a relative in a CCRC out west and it sound similar in make up (but bigger) like CW and they seemed to have slowed the aging (maybe even got a bit younger). Glad my friends feelings of CW matched what you saw, they were very impressed. They are a few years away and just started the exploration. Again, best wishes and enjoy.
