Geographically, not so.

But culturally?

This city still seems pretty segregated. Pretty black and white and Southern.

Discuss.

I remember this guy... based on his last thread on Richmond, I think the intention is to stir the pot. Better off if we let this one sink...

Most cities are segregated. That aside, no, I don't think that Richmond is comparable to cities in the deep south. Blacks in the city of Richmond have a more northern attitude to them than blacks in cities in the deep south. However whites in the country here might as well be in the deep south because there's not much difference. Just my observation.

Good catch.

If you look into his profile and search for some of his posts in the other forums he usually posts in, you will notice he does the same thing everywhere - starts threads to create unnecessary controversies just for the heck of it with short, vapid posts that lack any element or reasonable basis and then disappears while others fight on the topic. Comical but sad!

I dont think RVA is deep south in any kind of way besides maybe its history and even that is very diffrent from the deep south. If anything it potrays upper southern and mid atlantic cultural aspects.

no no i disagree...... if you go even an hour north it is WAY different culturally, architecturally, politically, Richmond is obviously the start and possibly the heart of the south on I-95
