I'm in the same boat as saltafterhim. Looking to buy a house in a decent neighborhood. No kids. Have been looking at areas east of downdown (Church Hill) but have lately been reading some troubling things about the neighborhood. Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Matt K.

Where have you been looking? Church Hill is often misused to describe a much larger geographic area beyond the neighborhood's borders. The neighborhood is more established south of Marshall, and more in transition north of Marshall.

I live in the Fan, but really dig the area in Church Hill near St. John's Church and Libby Hill Park.

Totally agree -- the term Church Hill takes in a huge area -- I lived south of broad in the mid 70s for 4-5 years and loved it -- still do :-)
