I am looking for an open area that isn't thrashed or in a bad area I can set up a recording spot for my music. I feel pretty cramped in a small apartment with my spouse and two kids. I need a bit of privacy without an audience or distractions, too.

I'm wondering if there's an area I may have permission to use abandoned or not that I can set things up in. A wide open area would also help with acoustics, too.

"open large buildings or abandoned buildings"

Go downtown, point your arm out straight, close your eyes, spin around, pick any direction and stop. Vollia!

protip: Keep in mind of the New Noise Ordinance In Richmond.

An abandoned building? lol. What style are you playing, death metal?

How about you go snoop dawg style and setup in your shower.

i think VCU has a place you can practice music in... if you're not a student i'm sure they would still let you use it during the day

edit: never mind i guess it's only for students with a music major/minor.... regardless you could try to contact the school

2nd edit: why don't you travel down to browns island when nobodys there (during the week) and practice there??? there's huge fields by the river that might work for you
