"it is less than a mile from exit 156 of I-81 and about 10 miles from downtown roanoke"

Any feedback on the area? We are waiting on a job offer so I'm wondering if this could be a contender... we are a family of 5 (kids are 10, 8 & 4).

And any idea what elementary/middle schools?

Thanks!

That's the Brugh's Mill Rd. exit. The Country Store there is rumored to have the best milkshakes around.

It's pretty much rural Botetourt County. It's safe and the schools in Botetourt aren't bad. You're not 10 miles from downtown Roanoke, though. Maybe as the crow flies...but from that exit on 81, you're 13 miles from 581 (exit 143) and then another 6 miles to downtown. That's a solid 20 minutes. However, there will be shopping closer in Daleville and the Hollins area in Roanoke County. And probably Bonsack if you want a Wal-Mart or a Lowe's.

Thanks Dave! If we make the move then we will be looking for a rental for the first year or so - until we get a feel for the area!
