Hey everyone! I am moving up to Roanoke from the Raleigh/Durham area and am in desperate need of some help finding a place to board my mare. She is a very easy keeper with no vices and can easily be put on pasture board. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!!!

Default Boarding in Va

Hello. I noticed your post from last year. Did you find a nice place? I've relocated to Roanoke as well from NC and looking for a nice farm for my retired horse. Would love to hear any suggestions you have found.
Thanks

If you haven't already check out:

Roanoke Horse Boarding Farms, Roanoke, Virginia Boarding Stables, Roanoke VA Pasture and Stall Board, Roanoke City County, Virginia Pasture and Stall Board

It's one of the sites I code. I also own a horse farm in Boones Mill but we transitioned out of boarding. My wife concentrates on teaching riding students and has a few training horses at any given time.

The nicest boarding operation bar none is Home. At $740/month it's overkill for a retired horse but it's worth mentioning. Then there is Home closer to the lake. Or Cobbs Mountain Farm. You could stop in at Southern States in Boones Mill and ask the owners for suggestions; they tend to know most of the horse folks in the region.

Hi Sean and thank you SO much. This has been the best info I have gotten so far. I've sent out two emails today with questions. I know exactly where two of these places are already but didnt know their name to search the web for them. Thanks again so much. Wish me luck!

Hi
I have a friend that just bought a farm (recently moved here from CA) and mentioned that he would allow horses on his acreage if I knew anyone. He's getting married next weekend so I'll ask (if appropriate!) at that time. If the opportunity doesn't arise I will talk to him when he comes back from honeymoon.
