Just called up a few from Anthem.com's doc directory based on zip code, was informed by one office that the earliest appointment for a new patient would be end of June, that's obsurd, not that I'm dieing to see a doc. Any recommendation of a good doc/medical office specialized in general practice that are participants of PPO would be appreciated.

3 months isn't that bad for a new patient appointment. I definitely wouldn't expect you to get in any sooner than 3-4 weeks.

Even as an established patient in a large practice, I often have to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment if I'm not sick. If I'm sick, I can get in within a day or two.

I'd recommend taking an appointment in June and then cancel if you find someone who can take you in sooner.

Same for dentists....call to make the appointment well in advance of when you actually need to go.

Have you called any of the Carilion family care centers? I go to the one on Brambleton. Never have to wait for squat. I usually see a nurse practitioner. Last time I saw a doc and she was just as cute as the NP. So, you can't lose.

But I don't need urgent care, is "Lewis Gale Urgent Care" misleading?
