Have driven through and looked at rental on craigslist for Brighton and pits ford. Love the homes but rents r high. Where else would u recommend looking? We need to be near strong mem. Thank u!

Also, what is your price range? You might be better off buying a home, depending upon how long you are going to be here.

Do you have school-aged kids? Try Henrietta. If not, you should look into the Elwanger-Berry neighborhood in the city, though finding a four bedroom with a two-car garage will not be easy. It would be easier if you could make do with a three bedroom and one car garage - those apartments are more plentiful.

I don't recommend buying if you're only going to be here two years. Houses here are tough to sell (I know, it has taken me 6 months to sell mine). Keep checking Craigslist or work with a real estate agent. Rochester isn't that large a city and commutes are pretty good to Strong from just about anywhere. You may also want to try Penfield. It borders Brighton and has decent schools. If schools are the most important thing to you, you can't beat Brighton.

If you live anywhere in Monroe County, you're talking about a half hour commute tops. from just about anywhere. Where are you moving from?

Lots of nice neighborhoods in the city. As the earlier poster suggested, Ellwanger Barry is great. We live in the Browncroft neighborhood of the city, which is not too far from Strong -- 4 bedrooms are harder to find but 2-car garages are not. (We have two children in city schools. It can be done!) There are 4 BR houses in the Park Ave area, which would be a fun place to live if you are only here for two years, but I don't know about garages.

Move to Greece, the further west, the better. Schools are very good. You can take 390 to get where you want to go.
