I would like to thank Rochesters massively declined workforce, mainly Kodak and Xerox downtown office buildings, for this prestigious honor. Yay Rochester!

Rochester has more jobs now than it did pre-kodak downturn and the region's population is larger now than it was then as well. There reason behind the short commute and lack of major traffic in Rochester doesn't come from people not having jobs; it is because our road system is great for a metro area our size. Traffic here has never been a major hassle and we have always had one of she shortest commute times for metro's our size.

Another fantastic post from you

Has more to do with the fact that Rochester's roadways were built for 2 or 3 times the amount of people that currently live in the area.

Yeah, there is definitely a ton of growth downtown to displace Kodak job losses, not sure what I was thinking. Sorry.

And, in many cases, it is relatively affordable to live near where one works.

Rochester is down 30,000+ private sector jobs since 2000.

Yeah, there have been two recessions since then. I was referring to the mid 80's when Kodak first started to tank. And the point anyways was simply that there had never been much traffic around here; during kodak hayday or bust.
