I am moving to Fairport or Penfield. I'm trying to make a final decision, but am not sure of which will be the better fit.

I would like to buy a house within the 150,000-250,000 price range. If possible, I would like a some land, an acre or more would be wonderful. I am hoping for a community feel, which I feel Fairport has. On the other hand, it is a huge school district (my daughter is starting kindergarten in the fall) and I feel as though she would get swallowed up by the size.

Any advice or insight into the differences of the two towns would be wonderful!

Flip a coin. They're both very nice.

If I were forced to choose one, I'd go with Fairport. A great little village and Fairport Electric.

for the acreage you want you'd need to be on the upper end of your pricerange...but given that, I'd say your best bet would be fairport for lower utility costs and a better school district (though they are both great).

Both are equally nice areas - see where you find a house that you like the best in your price range. Fairport has a nice active village area if that makes a difference ... could give it a little edge, but I wouldn't hesitate to live in Penfield.

Both are nice but I love the village of Fairport.
