Are there any Rochester, NY area programs that have an elementary gifted program? My child is currently in a 1st grade gifted program (in another state) that sends him to a different school one day a week to work on advanced topics not covered in regular school. He loves this program and is excited about going every week. It's nice to see a child come home excited an want to work more on his schoolwork.
I guessing that the best bet is to look into the top elementary schools in the top school districts or perhaps look into private schools in the area with similar or rigorous academic programs(I.e.-Allendale-Columbia, Harley, etc.).
Most schools in the suburbs have some sort of Enrichment program. In Penfield this is called PCC- Project Challenge. Each district is different and each program is run differently. You will have to go around to each public school to see what they have to offer with each Enrichment Program. I agree if you are going PRIVATE I would look into Allendale Columbia or Harley.
