My choice would be Spencerport, without a doubt. It is a nice town with a nice village and lots of little shops and restaurants and a food market. They also have a nice waterfront on the canal. It is also pretty well connected to the highway system with rt. 531.

BTW, most all of the Rochester region is safe, even in the city. Despite what someone else said, there's really only a few concentrated areas that are "ghetto". Mostly the area just north of downtown. It's known as "the Crescent". There is NO ghetto in any of the suburbs, however there has been a small amount of integration in the inner suburbs.

North Chili is a nice area, and very convenient to a lot of stuff.

My family and I are moving to Chili in July (Churchville Chili school district area) and we have visited multiple times and driven around the area and haven't found a bad or shady looking spot yet.
I can't speak for the rest of the suburbs because I haven't been to them all but we narrowed it down between Chili and Spencerport which seemed very nice as well. We picked chili because of how nice the area was and it was closer to RIT were I will be going to school. Good luck!
