Just curious which village do you think is the tops in terms of being able to walk through the village, scenery, grabbing a bite to eat, etc. somewhere you can kill an afternoon without a car.

i am most familiar with fairport and victor, any others villages and their main streets i should check out?

Brockport, Pittsford and Webster come to mind.

the above suggestions are great. Schoen place in Pittsford is very scenic if you've never been there. Also Canandaigua if you've never visited before.

I have never been, but I wonder if the village of Geneseo would be another good option. Especially with the college being there.

Spencerport is nice too. Not real large, but nicely walkable and a nice "downtown" with shops and restaurants on the canal.

Fairport without a doubt is amazing. I agree Mvl. Spencerport and Geneseo are really walkable too. Another village that has a surprisingly good walkable downtown is Palmyra.

I'm going to have to say Pittsford on this one! Perhaps I'm a little biased because my husband works at Simply Crepes Cafe on Schoen place, but when he had his job interview this past summer I walked my son around town and it was pretty nice. There are lots of cafes, diners, and restaurants. I really like the village bakery & cafe. Last time I drove through Geneseo it looked really nice too. I also really love Canandaigua, but I'm not as familiar with that area.
