In Rochester many local restaurants call themselves "hots" and serve their own take on the Garbage Plate which they'll call a "plate". Zweigles is a Rochester company that creates "white hots" and "red hots".

I've seen some of this guy's videos--had no idea he was a Rochester native! Cool that his roommate is as well.

Don't, NYC has much better food than the garbage on that list. There is a reason those dishes are not well known outside their areas, they are not good.

As far as garbage plate goes, it's literally garbage, a disgusting amalgamation of various junk foods and some sauce. It's not that popular even in Rochester. Letitia James never tried it? Well, good for her.

Yeah it's definitely awesome that he's a Rochester native and now one of the biggest food youtubers too. His version of the Garbage Plate looks amazing.

I’m not sure if you know what literally means.

A lot of that list included NYC area foods, and quite a few of those items are pretty tasty to me and I live in NYC. The original version of my reply to your post was, “You’re garbage!”

Nice! I think maybe the forum should have a stickied thread that’s nothing but online video recipes for garbage plates.

Garbage plate is a testimony to Rochester's low-class taste in "food".....I understand y'all have hometown pride and may be butt hurt when someone speaks the truth about your town, but the truth is the truth. This thing is filthy and stomach-turning. Only in a place devoid of actual good food like upstate NY would such a dish be considered the culinary crown jewel. Pick almost any dish from French food, Italian food, Japanese food, Southern food or any other respectable cooking tradition, and it will be 100x better than this aptly named plate of literal garbage.
