The wind storm a few years back was pretty scary. I was leaving RIT and heading home going west on Jefferson Rd. and saw a STOP sign come unhinged from the post and fly into the side of a pick up truck in front of me. Could have easily killed someone. There were downed live power lines all along the road and I saw multiple pine trees come down. One right next to my apartment. Some how we didn’t loose power but I know a lot of people in Chili/Gates were without power for nearly a week. I could do without another windstorm like that lol.

I'm thinking the Easter 2003 Frost was the worst storm ever. I Agree with droc31 on this one. You had to drive over an hour east to get to where it wasn't cold enough for the wires to freeze.

Hate to burst your bubble. But Just because 252 is often referred to as "Jefferson Road" doesn't mean you are necessarily on Jefferson Road. I don't know why people are using code words like "Jefferson Road" "Ballyntine Road," etc. to refer to parts of 252, its annoying. Anyways, I know exactly what Stop sign you're talking about, on a portion in Gates-Chili. Since then, the cross road was moved a little bit farther west and is now flashing. My golly, times have changed along 252 since I've been born.

14626: The '03 ice storm was bad, but I would still put it at #3 behind #2: March 5, 1993 and #1. March 4, 1991 as among the worst ice storms. '93's ice storm was followed a week later by the Storm of the Century (which remains my #1 weather event I've experienced in my life). No school for a week, snow with thunder and lightning, 12 foot drifts along parts of the roadsides, and it was eerily silent as there were no cars or the usual convoy of tractor trailers driving on the busy stretch of Route 31 west of Rochester where I lived at the time.

Try telling that to the USPS. They think its Beaver Road in Rochester and not 252/Jefferson Road in Gates-Chili! I have a friend who lives out there that's how I know! I'll have to tell her everyone calls 252 Jefferson Road. She says when that event happen she was snowed in at her home it was horrible but she doesn't remember what the year was.

Ladies! Whether or not its called "Jefferson Road" or not. Its always going to be Route 252!
But, I honestly agree the storm I was thinking of was the 2003 storm droc31 inferred to!

You're right, no need to argue its always 252.
We had a horrible horrible storm yesterday in Greece area. I heard there was even a tornado in Parma which is not too far from me. The sports complex was affected I hear. Never had we had so much wind in Western Monroe County as far as I can remember.

Never? The windstorm we had just a few years back in March 2017 was magnitudes worse than the other day.
