Good luck in whatever you choose. It sounds like you will be happy with whatever choice you make, so sounds like a win-win to me. I think the comment about kids had more to do with having a yard and many people in NYC with kids choose to send them to private school, which adds to cost.

Default Roch vs. Brooklyn

I have lived in Rochester all my life. I find it boring. I can't live without my family, so I won't move away- but I live for a vacation. It depends if you are looking for excitement. If you are Rochester is not the place.

Rochester is not a safe place to raise kids. The crimerate is awful. Unless you move to the "Rochester area", like the suburbs of Rochester. I've lived in Rochester my whole life and it has gotten so much since I was a kid. Living close to family is important, but if I were you, BK would be my choice.

Maybe you should get out of the house. If you find this area boring, you are not looking for things to do. There is always something going on.

There are other aspects to the lilac festival besides the flowers. There are plenty of bands playing too. No matter where you live there is always something going on. Unless you reside in an open field in Siberia.

So let me get this straight...in the eyes of NYurban...the only thing there is ever to do in Rochester is the week and a half long lilac festival in May That's too boring, and there is nothing else to do or going on in the area ever? Man this is a depressing place!
