"The secret is getting out: Rochester is a pretty darned good city when it comes to food.

We were recently named the best small city in America for vegans, according to VegNews. That makes sense: A new vegan café and bakery has opened in Rochester.

And if you're vegan in Rochester on Thanksgiving, you no longer have to limit your holiday meal to a couple of side dishes.

The latest accolade: Rochester has been named the second best city for doughnut lovers by Rent.com.

The website looked at the 150 most populated cities in the country and looked at the proportion of doughnut businesses in a city, doughnut businesses per capita and doughnut businesses per density."

So, numbers 3, 4, and 5 are all donuts + beer? I've never tried it, but maybe it works because it's a yeast thing?

Never been there, but I could get down with some donuts and beer.

Has anyone been to any of these donut shops/businesses in the article? If so, how would you rate them?

We got an assorted dozen at Donuts Delite and they were all very good. Probably the best donuts I've had. Paula's Donuts in Buffalo is very good as well. Not sure about the other Rochester Donut spots.

I've been to Donuts Delight and Ridge Donut Cafe, but not in a while. They are opening a satellite DD on W Ridge. I remember Hegedorn's had good donuts for a grocery store.
