Our friends from FL are here and oh my goodness it has not been the visit we expected...
They are having marriage problems, getting separated / divorced, and it is clear my friend is having some mental health struggles (she is understandably depressed and weepy.)
I'll pass along a compliment from her: she says the guys here are hot. And also that the people here are good drivers.
They're here for 5 more days and after that are doing more traveling in NY and PA. I kind of can't believe they kept their plans for this trip, but I never judge the way people handle this kind of stuff.
Not even divorced yet and she's already eyeing our men like she's ready to move on to her next relationship.
Kind of explains why the relationship is on rocky ground, wouldn't you say?
Well, I freely admit I'm nosy enough to want more of the story. Like when did they announce they're splitting up, before or after they arrived?
It sounds like instead of tourist attractions HeartNY will be needing therapist recommendations for the friend.

I don't think this is right . Work your issues out in private

Sorry to disappoint lilacs, in this case it's not really a "juicy gossip" kind of story. They're both saying they are sick of fighting all the time. And to answer your question, the first day they were at our house they told us what was going on. Leading up to their visit we knew they were going through a particularly rough patch in their relationship lately, but we were surprised and upset to hear they are seriously thinking this is the end of their marriage.
On a happier note, they are very impressed with the area here. Especially the food!
Friends from HI will be visiting the first week of October. They are really excited about seeing some fall color (and I am too!) What would be some good leaf-peeping drives for fall foliage?

Letchworth State Park, about 50-60 minutes south of Rochester............
I'll second leadfoot4's suggestion of Letchworth. Another idea is pick a finger lake to drive around. For a shorter drive choose one of the smaller lakes like Conesus or Honeoye, if you want a longer drive pick one of the bigger lakes like Seneca or Cayuga.

This might seem kind of strange but a walk through Mount Hope Cemetery during peek foliage is my favorite! Especially with Halloween being right around the corner. Highly recommend.

Oh that will be perfect!
