That's the first I've heard of that. I thought I once heard of a $2 thousand package. I wonder how long you have to stay? Some incorrect data. Xerox and Ragu are no longer HQed here, although Xerox has substantle property, and last I knew did have some HQ jobs in ROC. They most likely are thinking of LiDestre Foods.
I hope this works. I hear of lots of happy people, even after moving here from much larger cities
By “Greater Rochester”, are they referring to suburbs also?
I am only familiar with the eastern suburbs but the quality of life there (schools, housing, nearby lakes, etc.) is very good. Prices for nice housing in lovely leafy neighborhoods, which may be older (1970s, for ex.) but well built, is less much expensive than rapidly growing cities. Taxes are higher but other cities also have rising property taxes unfortunately.
Personally I think the amount of snow has lessened through the last few years, but the summers seem hotter. That may just be my perception.

Yes, you can relocate anywhere in the Greater Rochester region which covers 9 counties. Extra incentives are offered if you relocate to downtown Rochester.
I am too late to delete the map link in my previous post, but I think it does not actually show the entire area that the program considers the Greater Rochester region. The FAQ section on the website states "participants are free to live anywhere in the Greater Rochester region, as defined by our 9 counties." The housing section of the website has a link to a zillow map (which I posted) but that map, while it does extend beyond Monroe County, does not show an area encompassing 9 counties.

I think Rochester is now in the sweet spot, where people have had enough with the big cities, but still want the amenities.

So, say a person likes a small city/bigger village such as Geneva, Canandaigua, Batavia, Seneca Falls(former village, now CDP) or Penn Yan, this applies to those places as well.
