I am curious to know if there are people out there in Rochester who commute to NYC for work. I do not mean daily as I would assume that there aren't people out there! (If there are though, I would love to hear further details...) I am speaking about three times a week or so.
And if so, is there a preferred airline in Rochester (i.e. jetBlue) to get you there efficiently and is decent in price.
Any other information/tips about the commuting from Rochester to NYC on a consistent basis is greatly appreciated as well!
I commuted every Mon morning into Manhattan and back to Rochester Weds night. Jetblue is the best option. I wouldn't consider any other airline. They are all the same price and Jetblue is the most reliable. Also, JB goes into JFK and you can take the Airtrain into NYC instead of worrying about a cab or bus if you were to go into LGA. Any other questions, please let me know.
I also have a family member who does this commute as well. Jet Blue is his airline as well. Out on Monday, home on Friday. If ever delayed it is rare and on the JFK end. Jet Blue has 'given' him two round trip tickets to Aruba and an upcoming Carribian vacation courtesy of their True Blue points.
I used to travel to Rochester for work. JetBlue is your best bet. They have enough flights daily to get you home when other airlines cancel theirs. Airlines have a habit of canceling due to “weather related” when it is really just too many vacant seats.
We have a friend who commutes to NYC from Rochester weekly. He still drives when he doesn't fly JetBlue. They are the most reliable.
