So I'm in my third year at UR and I got a job in Rochester at the NYS Department of Transportation. I'm going to try and stick around in Rochester for summer 2009 working there.

Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode "The Summer of George?" Well I want to make this "the summer of Nick." I've heard that there is a LOT to do in Rochester in the summer. What should I put at the top of my to-do list?

Congrats, now get your shovel. Joke. And yes, there are lots to do. Have you been to Sticky Lips or Dinosaur BBQ?

Making the assumption that a third year college student likes to party...Park Ave. Fest, Harborfest, East End Fest, Charlotte beach any weekend really. Other suggestions might be free concerts downtown (I'm not sure what night it is or where they hold it anymore), concerts at Darien Lake or CMAC, Sterling Renaissance Festival.

lol I'll be working in an office, so none of that :-D I loooove Dinosaur and have heard great things about Sticky Lips, it's on my list.

Definitely psyched about going to the beach too. I've never lived somewhere with a beach before!*

My rule is Sticky Lips for the food and Dinosaur for the atmosphere (not that Dinosaur has bad food, just not as good as Sticky Lips). I'm sure plenty would disagree with me though. Another good BBQ place is Taste of Texas in Spencerport.

If you goto Sticky Lips, go early (before 5pm) on the weekends. It gets crowded and you have to stand for awhile sometimes.

I like Dino's hot foods and sauce better and the atmosphere better, Sticky Lips for everything else.

Hey juppiter--I'm a University of Rochester student too! Out of curiosity, what's your year/major? I'm a senior and my major is in chemistry.

Well, I was pre-med. I've taken all the classes, and have the grades, but I've decided against going to medical school because I just don't think I'd be happy as a doctor. It's a noble profession though, and it sure takes a lot of hard work to get there. Best of luck to you!
