Can anyone recommend a great real estate attorney? We will be looking for a home soon and I gather we need one of these folks in New York state! I understand that some mortgage companies require use of specific attorneys, but I want to make sure I have someone good looking out for my best interests on this purchase. Thanks!

If it is complicated purchase (foreclosure, strange terms, etc.), then I recommend Richard Stowe in Spencerport, but he is expensive. If it is a simple cut and dry purchase, use one of the high volume companies like Gallo and Icovangelo (sp?).

We just moved here from PA and we used Jane Hopfinger at Osbourne Reed, 585-263-9500. She is fantastic and really looked after our interests. I'm an attorney myself so I debated whether to bother hiring one, but as I was dealing with a number of other aspects of the move, I decided to hire Jane and I am so glad I did. She really looked after our interests and went above and beyond to make this a smooth process.
