Hello, I am writing to you from Scranton, Pa. Scranton had been operating a small zoo, very similar in size and design to the main building at the Seneca Zoo, up until about twenty years ago when it was shuttered.

A 'wildlife sanctuary' moved in around 2003, but their treatment of the animals was less than ideal, and controversy followed. The result is that the building will now once again be vacant.

It seems as though the Seneca Zoo has had it's troubles over the years as well, but from what I can see, is doing very well today. I am hoping that some on here will visit the NEPA site, and offer some advice. Here's the link: //www.city-data.com/forum/north...nay-aug-3.html

I will be posting a comment to let others know that people from Rochester might be responding. Some topics that would be relevant would be the size of the building, cost of operation vs. population of the surrounding area, expansion of the facility without minimizing the rest of the park, and if you feel what Seneca provides it's animals in terms of habitat size, enrichement, etc. is sufficient.

This advice is much-needed.

I won't be checking back here, so please respond only to the Scranton thread.
Thanks.
