You sound like a Rochester lifer. You can pretty much get hot dogs everywhere.Well a chicken cutlet hero is a SIMPLE deli staple and any good deli that doesn't know what it is should be ashamed whether in NYC,long island,or here.
Well then you'd be wrong about me being a lifer.... I don't know where the hot dog comment came from. A chicken cutlet hero is familiar in some northeastern cities, but outside of some northeastern areas, I haven't found too many areas that have it as a staple. You'd get weird looks ordering one in many cities.
So we go from the Op's question to the worst thing Rochester has to offer to eat the "garbage Plate" I get sick when my son attempts to bring it into the house he gets to eat it outside. lets try to figure out how to get a chicken cutlet hero here.
I have travelled all over the country and nothing beats a chicken cutlet hero if made well.In other places I definitely can suggest certain food.

If you go to Mass or Rhode Island change the word hero to grinder and you get the same thing. In other states hoagie.I have had it in Arizona and Cali but definitely not as good.
Yea, its on menus in other areas, but not a staple like it is in some northeastern areas from what I've seen. I see a chicken parm sub much more often in other areas.

The only problem is that the parm sub is prepared wrong here in alot of places too.Parm is supposed to be breaded and in alot of places they are grilling it or using grilled/broiled chunks. Also fingers are not supposed to be used. It's actually an insult to the originators of the sandwich ( the italians).
Where are you going where its not breaded or fingers are used? I don't usually come across this
I reside by Brockport and unfortunately the places on Main St are offering it as grilled. Also when I was going to Greece on ridge Rd. There was a good deli called Scarpullas(i think) close to RT 19 by Clarkson that did it right( actually on Ridge Rd.) but it closed a few months ago.
yea, out that way there aren't too many great places for that type of thing.
