We are new to Rochester from all we heard about the outstanding Rochester weather "where is it". We been hot and muggy for too long now. Is this a normal weather pattern here? Also any kid related festivals ?

Where did you move from?

Decent heat and high humidity is standard fare during the peak of summer in much of the east coast. Look at this page for a description of Rochester's climate - Humid continental climate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From friends who have been in Rochester during fall, once September comes it is beautiful and comfortable.

See City of Rochester | Events for upcoming events in the city. Don't know about ones aimed at kids though!

Well, it is summer. Just wait until you see all the southern license plates here in August, though...

How odd with a twist- you see all the NY plates down south in October , November , December, January, February, March and April. I will give you the one month of August.

LOL those are the months we used to travel out south, just as many "snowbirds" roost there at that time. We traveled there once from July-August. Never again. As a matter of fact, I have no desire to deal with the bugs again. The last time it was like a house of horrors.

If you want to see some action, be sure to go to the Puerto Rican festival. They usually end up being the headline of the news. Courtesy of ckhthankgod. Oh! And one of the most ridiculous festival of all time - Ten Ugly Men Festival*— July 27.
