I suggest Socorro, New Mexico. It has a college and is probably no more friendly or unfriendly than any other place.

I have never been there, but my brother-in-law ( former Minnesotan ) lived in Arizona caring for his dying wife.


After she died, he sold the house , had a motor home, and drove around checking out places.
He found Socorro NM and decided to stay . He really likes it there.

You wont find nicer people than I found in Flaggstaff Arizona !

its the people not the beautiful scenery that sold me

unfortunately due my job i will be moving to chico California . . .

But I prefer Flaggstaff by a mile.
