Please share your small town holiday festivals or celebrations.

I would like to hear how small towns in all parts of the country celebrate.

In our town of 5000, we have a Chritmas fair and a Main Street parade during the Thanksgiving weekend. Charity dinners for the poor and homeless both for thanksgiving and Christmas on the actual holidays.

Around here, everything is a parade. Even the nearby small beach community has a street parade and a boat parade, which is pretty cool.

Johnson City, TX (one of 11+ small towns that "get into the mood...")

25th Anniversary of Lights Spectacular
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Lights Spectacular, Hill Country Style. Proclaimed as "the Centerpiece of one of the biggest shows on the Texas Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighting Trail" by Southern Living magazine with a courthouse that "shines brighter than the star of Bethlehem". The entire town is bathed in lights with 100,000 lights twinkling on the Blanco County Courthouse while Pedernales Electric Coop’s Headquarters on Ave F boasts a lighted forest of over 1 million lights.
I like this one: Christmas in Comfort – The Comfort Chamber Of Commerce

And this meaningful memorial to a HS gal that was killed in an accident:

Christmas boat parades are something we always enjoy around here. Must dress warmly and have hot chocolate handy, it's cold out there.
