All I can say is that I live in a very small NC coastal town/island and we had so many
NY families arriving in the past few weeks to "ride it out" here that we had to
ban all short term rentals temporarily.

I prefer a small town, neighbors banning together to help everyone out.

Plenty of aholes on twitter still going to beaches, bars etc. to the point where we have to public shame them. Anyone who comes up with a term called boomer remover should get a reality check on being human. Possibly grow a conscience.

According to the FBI, Maine is the safest state. Half our population lives within 50 miles of Portland and half of that circle is WATER! We are a state of small towns. City people from away say, "What do you DO up there?"

I'm in a semi-rural location. I guess it's safer. Dunno. But I grocery shopped at WalMart, same as everyone else in the country. Semi-rural people are probably less careful, generally. And there are probably more older people. So that's not good. But then, less populated areas have fewer wacko young people who think they're impervious to illness & death, & fewer homeless & low income, who are harder hit, I guess?

I moved here from Dallas. I think it'd be the same or less dangerous in Dallas, since the people there are more educated (so they pay more attention to facts & read or watch the news more), and the businesses there would've taken more care earlier than here, I think. Here, some people don't watch the news, really (except Trump's pressers, where he says it's just a bad cold & will disappear in April like a miracle).

My main concern would the lack of medical facilities in a smaller town.

All it takes is one person visiting or just passing though.

It hasn't affected you, you're not at high risk, and you think it's funny.

Unbelievable.
Yes, that's truly the saddest thing about our world these days. People enjoy laughing at those less fortunate than themselves.

Oh, it's worse than that, aileesic. Millennials cavort and play because they know if they do get it they are very likely to survive it and be immune for the duration. They see people their grandparents' age as useless. Most of them have no idea who their grandparents are. They see this new flu that will kill millions as a the 'boomer remover". Some think they will be able to just move into an "abandoned" property. Some will get away with it. That happened in 1918 when my grandmother was alive. They would go in and pay the back taxes to the town and the town would give the freeloaders a release deed.

Have you considered quail? Meat and eggs and relatively easy and extremely cost-effective.

That part still happens today. Everyday. Some make a living doing it.
