While that's true (as is much of Wisconsin), it's pretty far from "New England". Again, if you want to avoid political discord, don't wear your own leanings as a badge, live and let live.
She wanted to be south of New England, not in it. I dont know that area, but I do know Minnesota, although it wont be warmer than New England.

East Central Minnesota. Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Pine and Chisago counties. Not much in the way of colleges, these are more rural areas mostly. I know these areas. I have met plenty of hippy dippy crunchy granola types in this region. My parents who now live in rural Kanabec cty had a group of drum circle banging lesbians buy a property fairly near to them, who kept chickens and alpacas. They told my mother they loved the area (compared to Minneapolis). They were all in for Bernie in 2020 due to the sign in front of their house.
Not much in the way of progressive Unitarian churches, but plenty of Lutheran churches which can be fairly lefty from my experience.
And a farm in these areas, the $$$ can be had comparable to a house in urban/suburban areas at the moment.
She can self isolate all she wants, and her vote wont dilute things much, which may aggravate the locals in other areas. I think she could find her own circle of people over time, but if she wants to be militant about her views though it likely wont go well. or if she is "triggered" by a Trump sign (she would have seen a few in those areas) then it also may not go well. Those areas are mixed politically just looking at yard sign anecdotes. Rural Minnesota had a pretty libertarian aspect to it historically.
Reminds me of people who move to an area and say they want diversity but they want people who look just like them.
So not like the TN state legislature that refused to honor a well-regarded, successful native of Tennessee because he came out as gay...they are blatantly telling gays NOT to move there because they are not valued as individuals for the positive impact their lives make... https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...003930923.html

Why not
She was patronized, criticized, called a liar basically for her perceptions (which basically proved her point)
And got a few suggestions on point

So one state legislator who cited a procedural objection to a SJR to honor a country music artist is telling gay people not to move to the state because they are not valued?
Wow that is quite some reach.
It was a rather strange OP, to be sure. Hard to say whether the aggressive responses drove her off or she never meant to stay.
It was a hit and run, made the post and never came back to see responses. Just look at the profile page, it gives the time of last activity. Been a lot of these lately.

Why would you say it is a reach?
Only because you don’t want to admit that conservatives in power want to use their power to push their own agendas/POV...
TN residents elected that rep for one area but consider the reaction of other reps...
There could have been backlash in the legislature to prevent his action
It didn’t happen
Likely many were happy to have one person carry the bucket, take any heat but still get the msg across
It is a red flag that TN can’t even do something symbolically that is more middle of road regarding people with lifestyles that are “outside” what their consider “normal”.
Note that the performer in question has been reluctant to admit his sexual orientation in his home state
Likely because he knew the reaction it would bring
So yes I think people with lifestyles that aren’t popular with alt right conservatives already know TN has people who don’t welcome them and their differences...
Are their people in TN who are more open-minded? Sure but they aren’t running the state legislature

Driving in from the ranch this morning, another thing hit me that might not go over too well, liberally speaking: our big pickup trucks and SUVs fit well to our lives out here. Enough said.
