That’s my wife’s family. They all upped and moved to the land of eternal sunshine and summer…Florida.
They stay inside as much as possible from April to October.
The AC goes down and it’s a humanitarian crisis on the biblical level.
But hey, at least they don’t need to shovel any snow.
You have truly captured the spirit of a Florida summer. But we have great a/c for which I am very thankful now. The folks in the more northern parts are truly suffering from the heat.

But, in the High Plains and Mountain States, we don't have the humidity like Florida does. Heat, yes, but add high/tropical humidity to that and it's a total "sweat" job.

Most times we have what's called 10/10 AC- open the windows and doors from 10pm to 10am, close the them and the shades for the remaining part of hot days. Usually don't have to kick on A/C but for a few hours even when it's mid 90's.
That is of course of there is no wildfire smoke. When that rolls in the windows and doors stay shut.
i will never live where it snows, hurricane i can deal with, anything below 50 degree, no thank you
I'm a former Floridian and if you prefer hurricanes over snow then I tend to believe you've not been in one.
