Hello, I am a new medical officer headed to Travis, AFB for my first Air Force duty station in less than a month. I am single with no children. I have a toy cup poodle who has turned out to be good therapy for me. I am looking to rent a home, with a back yard. I have been looking at homes for rent, however many of them don't allow pets. I was wondering if someone out there can fill me in on a good place to live. I will be on call most of the time, so being close to Travis AFb medical facility is a most. Any advice out there.

Apt or a House? You will probably want to look in Citrus Heights or Carmichael area but it also depends on how far you want to commute. I would recommend checking out rentals on Craigslist some of those private renters will work with you.
