Hello,

We are relocating to the Sacramento area in January. My oldest son is playing JV football now and really wants make varsity nest year at his new school. I have looked and can see that Folsom and Rocklin have good teams, what about other areas? we like the idea of Shingle Springs/Cameron Park and my husband really wants to live in Placerville Football is not the only important factor...the level of education matters too. Any thoughts? I can list places I have been looking:

Loomis, Rocklin, Rancho Cordova/Gold River, Folsom, EDH, cameron Park, Shingle Springs, PLacerville,,,remote/hills is a big plus for us...commute not so important...2 pre-teen/teen age boys who want sports/girls/movies/air-soft etc..

also maybe a good walk-scre if possible??

Too much to list, I can't imagine anyone has a great answer for me but I am putting myself out here anyway!!

Peace and many thanks in advance

You will find football and other sports at most high schools in the area. More importantly, research the quality of the school education and where you want to live. There are lots of web sites that show school ratings that you can compare. I'm from Texas and understand the focus of football, but you shouldn't let that alone determine where you want to live and raise your kids.

You will not find a good walkscore anywhere in the foothills (El Dorado Hills and East), especially in Placerville. But there are areas that are walkable within each city. Nothing quite beats driving around the neighborhood you are interested in living to see it in person. No amount of scanning the internet can answer that for you.

Good luck finding the place that's right for you.
