I know this thread is old, but I read it when I was looking, and thought I would update with the apartments that I found! I moved with my german shepherd and pomeranian into the Rose Crest apartments in Sacramento, near Carmichael. It is right by ARC. They are gorgeous apartments with a "tuscan" theme. I love it here! I could not find a place that would let me have my big dog, and was going crazy, getting rid of my dogs was not an option. I am a real tenant and just wanted to share with you how this place saved the day for me. MOD CUT Good Luck!

I own a 4 year old husky and an 8 month old pit mix. I've never lived in Sacramento with large dogs. I've been having a difficult time finding a place to rent out. I've found a few places by way out of my price range. I work downtown and don't mind a commute. Any updated suggestions?

Amazingly enough, many apartments in Sacramento allow dogs.... not sure why anyone would want to do that to a big dog though...I'd suggest checking craigslist or any of the rental websites. I think you will have more success with an independent party vs a property management company.

Try: Sacramento rentals - house, apartment, duplex, etc
Apartments for Rent - PadMapper Apartment Search for Oodle, Apartments.com, Rent.com, Kijiji, and Craigslist Apartments

P.S. I have a friend renting an older apartment in old Fair Oaks. She has 3 huskies. Sorry, I don't know the name. But older complexes may be more welcoming to dogs.

My family is trying to relocate to the SAC area. We have a lrg mixed breed dog. She is very well behaved and very friendly but because of her size, we can't find a house to rent and we can't buy at this time. We would take very good care of any house we had the opportunity to rent. Please! Someone give us a chance! We need in the Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and the areas near them. Thank you and God Bless.

all one needs to do these days is to get a note from the doctor that says your dog is a "comfort" dog and nobody can ask you anything. It doesn't matter that it's a pit mix, or how big it might be. The apartments typically charges $50 to $150 extra per month for each dog, but if you have a note from the doctor that fee is waived - at least in some places. Also, nobody can say a thing to you about it. It's good for those who choose to get these dogs before they're able to actually afford a house of their own. This way everyone gets to enjoy them. Joy.
