I'm looking for more suggestions. Ten days and counting until I'm in Folsom. Yipee! I will need to establish a bank account when I arrive. I do not care for big-name chains (BofA, WashMutual). I like personal service (tellers recognize you, bank manager is accessible and friendly, ridiculous holds are not placed on check funds). I will hold both business and personal accounts. Has anyone had positive or negative experiences with any of these: Folsom Lake Bank, Placer Sierra Bank, Iron Stone Bank, US Bank Thank you all for your help.

Why those?

Have you thought about availability?? - with ATMS all over the place. The others you are going to only find around Folsom and not very prominent. You'll be hard pressed to find ATMs

We LOVE Schools Credit Union - and there is a branch in Folsom, off Bidwell, near the college. It has the qualities you are looking for.

Positive with US Bank, and they are also located in all Safeway Supermarkets too.

I really like Umpqua. They've got great service and products. Their online banking is easy, and they've got branches all around Sac.

I've had never had a problem with US bank, but don't forget about Wells Fargo in Folsom. Their corp office is out there, so their branches are more prone to audits and checkups... ie they in theory could behave better.

A credit union to me tends to have some great benefits if you expect to need an auto loan or possibly mortgage in the future also.

If I was you, I'd get to my house... then find the closest banks. Then interview the branch manager. If they are hard and cold, move on... friendly and willing to help... that could be your money's new home

Default Is there any suggestions for a specific

credit union? I will be moving to the midtown area and am looking for a credit union to handle my personal and business needs.
