Sac needs to get this new arena done. It will be good for downtown, good for the city and good for the region.

No more excuses, this needs to get done.

"We don't have any money" is a good excuse. Got the money? Go write a check.

Create 5,000 mostly seasonal, minimum wage jobs, or $77,400 per mostly seasonal, minimum wage job. Most of those jobs will come at the direct expense of the exist mostly seasonal, minimum wage jobs at the current arena. That's IF it gets completed on budget, which it won't.

Voters overwhelmingly rejected the public lining of the Maloofs' pockets last time. The price tag is much lower but is that enough to sway voters. Public-private seems to indicate it will not be 100% tax payer funded, but no details on that yet. The Kings aren't the same team as they were; they're the bottom feeders of the NBA today, and the Kings' record-holding consecutive sellout games is long gone. The Maloofs are also less popular today than they were in 2006. We aren't in the middle of an overly exuberant real estate boom; we're in the midst of a deep recession.

They key issue is the money. That's always been the key issue. How much are the tax payers going to be asked to pay, what new revenue is going to be tapped to provide that money, and what is the City going to get for its investment. If it's the same "jobs and spurring the economy" as the 2006 fiasco, then give the Maloofs a tax abatement and let them build it with their money. Hell, give them the whole cost of the stadium. No taxes on the Kings' for the next 50 years or until they've accumulated $387 million in tax savings. Make it transferable to new owners and contingent only upon the Kings remaining in Sacramento.

The jobs would be very part time seasonal jobs and I don't see where an arena is going to generate 5,000 jobs.
