Hi, my husband and I are thinking of moving to the Sacramento area. He is a truck driver and I am learning to become a dog trainer. We have one dog, Labrador-mix and we are looking for a 2 bedroom house for around 700-800 dollars a month in a safe neighborhood. Is that possible? Thank you in advanced.

Yes, we do. We are looking at Sacramento, Denver, St. Louis or Charlotte. Where we get the best out of our dollars, we would move too. My husband is from CA and he loves the north, that's why we also look into Sacramento.

As far as weather goes- CA is your best bet. You can find a lot of affordable places around Sacramento, but in the range you're listing for the Sacramento area it would not be in the best location. If you can afford around 1,100-1,400 you can get a really nice house with a yard in a safe area. Otherwise- I would recommend looking at condo's, town-homes, or apartments for your range.

As a caveat- I'm actually moving to STL next month- and there are a ton of places for rent under $900- made me a little leery actually since i was paying so much more here.

Of those options, rentals in a decent neighborhood would be lowest in St Louis or Charlotte.

Yeah, I know, but my husband still would love to relocate to Sac. We just want to know if something decent would be possible in Sacramento.

It would be a borderline area in metro Sacramento, something like a duplex in Carmichael, Citrus Heights or Rosemont.

I understand your husband wants to live in Sac, but I think what is being said to you, as nicely as possible: probably for what you can or are willing to pay you will need to think of someplace else.
