Hey All,

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Citrus Heights or the greater Sacramento Area? We have a 2004 Infiniti that needs new break pads all the way around. The dealership wants $400 a wheel which is totally ridiculous. We are new to the area so we dont have a local mechanic yet.

Thanks!

I was able to find a good auto shop in my area. The place is Scotty's Automotive: Scotty's Automotive Inc -- Serving the Orangevale, Sacramento and Roseville area's automotive needs since 1961
I highly recommend them as we had a great inexpensive experience with them.

You can check NPR's Web site under the show "Car Talk" for recommendations for good mechanics. You might also want to check angieslist.com. I have a great mechanic, but he is in Cameron Park.

Ozmotive in Rancho Cordova off Bradshaw is the best auto mechanic in the greater Sacramento area. A friend referred me to him and I have referred many more of my friends. He is incredibly honest and fair. I took my manual Nissan to him to look at he cluthc which I was sure needed repair and he made a small (Free!) adjustment and said it was fine. 10,000 miles later no problem with the cluthc. I have shopped around. You will not find a better mechanic. Talk to Ozzy at 916 369-0809

I have a friend Kevin McAninch that owns and runs Auto Impressions (auto expressions?) in Rancho Cordova. He's done work for a few friends of mine and they have been happy with the work and the price. We've also had work done there and he's been great.

I've had good luck at Midas at Greenback and Fair Oaks.
Les Schwab is on the expensive side as they wiil replace the calipers even if they don't need it.
The Goodyear across the street is even more expensive and they DON'T replace the calipers unless they need it,
