What place do you guys think have the best happy hour in the grid? What about the cheapest? A place with good beer and good appetizers.

I'm interested in what might come back as well. Typically when I think happy hour in Sac it's the higher end places. Lucca, Mikuni's, McCormick, 15L Cafeteria and so on. I guess Rubicon, although their happy hour isn't great. Cheapest? Pine Cove. You get what you pay for, however..

Red Lotus has a great happy hour. Lots of great 5 dollar small plates.

I dont know about Happy Hour but on Sundays at Hoppy Brewing on Folsom @ 65th if you buy a meal ( lunch or dinner) when you leave you get to take a 20oz beer of your choice home with you. I was there with a non-drinker, had some good pub food and then got to take 2 cold beers home with me... I'll be back there on a Sunday for sure.

Very true, its my favorite watering hole, but technically it's off the "grid" and the grid snobs are a little persnickety when it comes to venturing out of midtown

East Sac is close enough for most grid snobs, especially a place like Hoppy--plus you can take light rail there or pedal over pretty quickly on your cruiser or fixie.

Hey, I'm just agreeing with you--there are plenty of places in East Sac where gridfolk will go with very little coaxing, like Giovanni's, OneSpeed, Bonn Lair, La Bohemia Trattoria, or even the Hilltop Tavern. And as long as we're sniffing around outside the grid proper I'd add the Hideaway, Pangea Cafe, and Dad's Kitchen to the list.

Wow didnt realize gridfolk were so snobby.. I lived on 37th and J ( Bonn Lair being 5 minutes away walking) for 7 years and never experienced that. Then lived on 23rd and Q for 2 years. Things sure have changed in the years I've been gone or maybe it's just the gridders you hang with
I'll be back down there next week after living in the hills a few years... guess I better prepare for the snobs eh?
