Hello,
I am moving to Sacramento County in the next month or two. I have a 15 month old baby and am looking for advice on schools. I know she is still young but the next house we buy will probably be it for hopefully the next 10 or more years. The areas we are looking in are Fair Oaks and Granite Bay. I'm on the fence on going the public or private route as well so I welcome suggestions and advice on both.

Also, any thought on Granite Bay VS Fair Oaks to live?

Thanks!!
Heather

I believe, in general, Granite Bay has the better public schools. Fair Oaks is larger and more spread out, so it really depends on what area you live in. I know nothing about private schools. I am familiar with Faith Lutheran in Fair Oaks (PK-6th grade) and I really like it there. But seriously, if you choose Granite Bay, I don't know why you would send your kids to private school, unless you have a religous reasons.

As far as where to live - it really depends what you are looking for, budget, commute, etc. Granite Bay is lovely, but some parts of Fair Oaks are really my favorite areas - I love the area off of Winding Way between Sunrise and Hazel, it makes me feel like I am very far away from the Sac valley in wooded foothills.....
