Hard to believe. Source?

Sac has a pretty awesome dining scene for a city its size, what are you talking about? It certainly beats out a ton of other similarly sized cities in the East, Midwest and South.

I have to agree. I don't know what your source is, but Sac has some fantastic restaurants. The Waterboy, Fat's, Firehouse, The Kitchen, to just name a few.

Not to mention the MULTITUDE of AUTHENTIC ethnic restaurants you can find here, which won't even exist in most other American metros back east, in the Midwest or in the South.

This is what Hydro was referring to:
Living Social, survey, Sacramento, restaurants - KTXL

I agree with what's said in that article. Living Social and Groupon aren't exactly the go-to source for reviews. After all, their business is based on advertisement and "deals" for consumers. Most small businesses who advertise their $10 for $20 worth of food or 2-for-1 special doesn't exactly have problems with overfilling seats. Fast food services usually don't advertise on there because they don't need to and the nicest restaurants that are already established don't use it because they're packed.

So in other words, if you were surveyed about how your "$10 for $20 worth of food restaurant that you never heard of, but tried anyways because it seems like a good deal" went, how would you respond?

I've tried a good amount of restaurants using Groupon and such sites and there are some good and some bad restaurants. Most are mediocre at best, but the really good places usually don't give you coupons that are 50% off.

If anybody complains about a lack of dining options in Sac, or even the quality, I already know they don't leave their house much.

Good thing no one pays attention to such a ridiculous survey. On a sheer awesomeness of restaurants per capita basis, Sac is respectable or great. On value or variety basis per capita, I'd put Sac against anywhere. I lived in Santa Barbara for a long time and just came back from another visits. Good food there--if you like spending more for lunch than most great restaurants around here charge for dinner. Even the whole in the wall Mexican food places charge $8 for burritos. Makes me want to send a nice thank-you note to Oscar's on Freeport.
