I have a friend who is moving to Sacramento soon and he has been house hunting and looking at API scores and such. For the locals, which schools are the best? I know it's a broad question since Sac is so big, but what are the highest rated schools and areas? Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

Here is a comprehensive listing.

The higher the number associated with the school, the better the rating:

Default Check these out.

What grades? Winston Churchhill Junior High and MiraLoma High on Watt & Pope Ave.) Both offer excellent IB Programs. Once completed opens the door to any college around Including Harvord etc. Cambridge Heights off of San Juan is a team teaching open structured school. Excellent.

San Juan Unified and Folsom have good school districts; avoid Sac City Unified at all costs! I was a teacher for a time there....it was bad.

If your friend is thinking of the foothills, Buckeye school district in El Dorado Hills/Cameron Park/Shingle Springs is terrific. For high schools, Ponderosa, Union Mine, and Oakridge are great.

Hello I am a Severe Level Special Ed teacher looking to apply at a school district in the Sacramento area. I currently am a full time teacher but would like to be able to purchase a home on my teacher salary. Sad that I can never qualify for such here where I am tenured/fully employed. Any information would be appreciated. I have never used this forum before.
