Look at the difference, same scale:





All of the streets snake all over the place and none of them connect, you can only get in and out of neighborhoods through major artieals, and every path you can take from destination to destination takes twice as long as it should.

And did I mention the traffic?

Thus reducing the traffic on our street where our small children are playing. Make it difficult to use the neighborhood streets as a shortcut to work...

I suggest moving to Fresno. You will love the solid grid-pattern over most of the urbanised area.

Yeah it sucks. Along with taking twice as long as it should, you have to always take the same boring way. One more reason not to spend time in the suburbs unless forced.
