Yes or No? Please explain why?

**LIMITED ONLY TO THOSE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY SPENT SOME TIME IN SACRAMENTO** (not a gas break on the way to Tahoe)

I put yes. But I must confess, I have never lived closer than Chico and Napa.

I never wanted to live in Sacramento, even though there were a number of jobs there. Upon reflection, it is a nice historic city in California with nice parks, access to the mountains and bay/delta, a milder summer climate than much of the valley, and is actually affordable. Sure it is a bit spread out, but so are all California cities. All in all, I would say it is a decent place to live.

I recall that when we lived in Napa many moons ago, some radio jock used to call it Sacratomato and Excremento. I think in the whole price to value ratio it does better than much of the state.

I grew up in San Francisco, and back then, I would've probably called it Excremento as well even though I had only stopped by at one time to see an uncle who lived here. After living here for a number of years, I've realized that the overall perception of Sacramento is greatly skewed. It is actually a very multi-faceted historic city with many things to offer, with beautiful neighborhoods and suburbs. It is a nice place to live, and offers great value. However, unlike many of the larger cities in California, Sacramento's charms are not well known and it really does take living here for years to really discover them.

Well, as far as suburbs go, there are some nice suburbs out here as well, especially in the foothills. However, if you are a city person, you're not going to like suburbs either way.

Nice place to live with a good, slower paced quality of life---however it was a MAJOR culture shock after living in San Francisco most of my life. It's just so different and feels more small town middle America than hustling/bustling city.

Citrus Heights and Rio Linda are more or less okay ... back when I was there it was a mecca for Meth (aka Crank)

Depends on the context and the metric like anywhere else.
