Well, look at the people who live in them. Usually folks who think having a huge stucco house and nice cars is the pinnacle of life. Roseville has as much culture as a dune trap.

SAN DIEGO has no nightlife? Sure if you're ignoring all of Pacific Beach and Ocean beach, and Downtown and the Gaslamp, and Hillcrest, and North Park, and University and Normal Heights which all have hundreds and hundreds of bars that are packed to the gills, then sure San Diego has no nightlife.
