Hello. How is everybody?

We are a small family looking to relocate to Shingle Springs for a more relaxed and rural lifestyle, and are currently looking to buy something with a small acreage for less than 400k.

Could someone who is familiar with the area please give me some feedback of the Hillwood CSD neighborhood? Particularly the Monarch-Woodside area? Information like how safe it is, are there any gang or drug related crimes, is it quiet at night, how are the local schools (we have school age kid), etc, would all be very valuable. I have never lived in the El Dorado County, and my knowledge is only limited to a few trips, and some online research. I definitely prefer to hear from someone who has first hand experience of the area or know someone who has, before I invest in a house.

Many thanks for any insight you can provide!

The schools are generally good in that area California School Ratings, ranking, test scores - Search Results

Crime happens but is lower than average compared to the Sacramento area and CA as a state. While every area has some drug problems, it doesn't stand out as being a high drug crime area.

Any time you are on acreage, your biggest noise issue will be barking dogs. It just comes with the territory. But I don't live there so can't really say how quiet it is.

Good luck w your move.
